| The NJATC was created in 1941 and has developed into what is perhaps the largest apprenticeship and training program of it's kind. Local programs affiliated with the NJATC have trained over one-quarter million apprentices to journeymen status with out cost to the taxpayers. This joint program between the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) has clearly demonstrated the most cost effective way to train qualified craft workers. The IBEW and NECA have joint programs for training Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Wiremen, Telecommunication Installers and Technicians and Residential Wireman.
